Face Academy Announcement Regarding COVID-19
March 13, 2020 – The Face Academy of Music directors met to discuss recent events involving COVID-19 in light of the Governor’s recent declaration of a state of emergency. We at Face Academy have the utmost regard, first and foremost, for the well-being of everyone in the Academy and we thank you all so very much for your calm demeanor and patience as we work through this together. You have been truly inspiring with your dedication to music, while allowing us the room to keep a pulse on things day-by-day. For the time being, we are suspending all classes and programs until we have a better understanding as to how we can proceed with the term and our final performances ensuring the health and safety for all of our students.
Face Academy directors will reassess at the end of March to determine how the end of the term will proceed, and final performance dates will be determined at that time. We want everyone currently enrolled to know that we are not cancelling the term, but we are instead just putting it on hold for the time being as we keep a close eye on events as they unfold so we can have a clearer understanding of how to manage and reduce potential risks moving forward and keep any associated risks to everyone as low as possible.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you all. We are all in this together. Now go wash your hands!
Spring 2020 AUDITIONED ADULT ENSEMBLE
Last summer, we introduced our very first auditioned A Cappella group! It went over so well, we’re going to do it again this term! The audition process is super easy and details are below. Singers will learn and perform fun, modern, cutting-edge arrangements within a “vocal band” (a cappella group) setting. Together, this new group will learn a variety of songs while working on skills like tuning, blend, dynamics, harmony, balance, stage presence, perhaps some blocking and sometimes choreography… all with the ultimate goal of performing a final showcase at the end of the term.
Ages: 18 years and Up
Audition Process: Auditions are as easy as 1-2-3!
- Complete the Registration form for the A Cappella program by clicking on the registration link or the Click Here to Register button,
- Submit your Audition fee of $35 (Fee applies toward the registration fee upon approval. If not accepted, the Audition fee is 100% refundable! However, if you are accepted but decide not to participate, the fee is not refundable.) You can also choose to pay the full tuition at the time of registration.
- Submit one video or audio link of your recording of you singing a verse and chorus of any song (not classical) that you feel demonstrates your best singing to our primary email address. We have provided 2 warm up videos (one for males, one for females) for you to sing along with to demonstrate your range. They are easy to follow and short!
We are not looking for folks to sing higher or lower than they are comfortable. We just want to hear where your voice sounds the best so we know where to place everyone!
Due Date: Submissions are due by Friday, January 3, 2019. All participants will be notified of their results by the following Friday.
NOTE: Auditions will not be accepted without completing Registration and the Audition Fee.
Here are the videos: Remember to have fun and sing along to the video while you record! Please include a verse and a chorus of a pop song to start, then hit play where Cody starts the exercises and sing along while you record!
Where to Submit Your Audition Link: Send a YouTube link, Vimeo link, or audio link of your audition to our email address: firstname.lastname@example.org. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ACTUAL FILES, just a link. We will be in touch once we receive your audition.
